We want every customer to understand their options clearly. This page explains our policies for faulty products, change-of-mind requests, order cancellations and manufacturer warranties.

Sleep House does not generally offer refunds or exchanges when a customer simply changes their mind.

Our Policy

Clear information when something goes wrong

This policy applies to products purchased from Sleep House online or through our Bayswater showroom. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Faulty Products

Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied products

Please contact Sleep House as soon as reasonably possible if you believe a product is faulty, damaged, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or significantly different from its description.

We may ask you to provide photographs, a description of the problem, your order details and proof of purchase. We may also arrange for the product to be inspected or assessed so that the nature and cause of the problem can be determined.

Sleep House remains responsible for assisting customers with remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law. Where appropriate, we may work with the manufacturer during the assessment and resolution process.

Please do not dispose of the product

Keep the product and its identifying labels available until Sleep House or the manufacturer has completed the assessment or provided further instructions.

Consumer Guarantees

Major and minor product problems

The remedy available will depend on whether the problem is considered major or minor under the Australian Consumer Law.

A product may have a major problem if, for example, it is unsafe, substantially different from its description or sample, cannot be used for its normal purpose, or cannot be repaired within a reasonable time.

  • For a major problem, the customer may choose a refund or a replacement of the same type.
  • For a minor problem, Sleep House may choose to provide a repair or another appropriate remedy.
  • If a minor problem cannot be fixed within a reasonable time, additional remedies may become available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Refunds provided under the Australian Consumer Law will be processed in accordance with the customer’s legal rights and will not be reduced by a cancellation fee.

Change of Mind

Choosing not to keep an otherwise acceptable product

Sleep House does not generally provide refunds, exchanges or store credits where a customer has simply changed their mind, found the product cheaper elsewhere, selected the wrong size or decided that they no longer require the product.

This change-of-mind policy does not affect any rights the customer may have where a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law.

Please choose carefully before ordering

Check the product name, dimensions, mattress size, comfort description, colour and delivery requirements before completing your purchase.

Mattress Selection

Comfort preference is personal

Mattress descriptions such as Firm, Medium, Plush or Soft are general comfort guides rather than standardised measurements. The same mattress may feel different depending on body weight, sleeping position, bed base and previous mattress experience.

A mattress feeling firmer, softer or otherwise different from a customer’s personal expectation does not necessarily mean that the mattress is faulty.

Customers are encouraged to visit our Bayswater showroom where possible, review product information carefully and ask our team for guidance before ordering. Any applicable manufacturer comfort-exchange program will be governed by that manufacturer’s separate terms and conditions.

Cancellations

Cancelling an order before delivery

Please contact Sleep House immediately if you wish to cancel an order. An order is not considered cancelled until Sleep House has confirmed the cancellation in writing.

Standard orders 10% fee
Made-to-order products 25% fee

Cancellation of a standard in-store or online transaction may incur a fee equal to 10% of the invoice value. Cancellation of a made-to-order transaction may incur a fee equal to 25% of the invoice value. Any applicable fee will be deducted from money already paid.

These fees reflect costs that may have been incurred in processing, ordering, manufacturing, allocating, handling or preparing the product. A cancellation request may not be accepted if the product has already been delivered.

Cancellation fees do not apply where a customer is exercising a right or remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Warranties

Manufacturer warranty claims

Many mattresses and furniture products sold by Sleep House include a manufacturer warranty. The warranty period, coverage, exclusions and claim process vary according to the product and manufacturer.

Customers should retain their receipt or order confirmation and follow the product’s care, installation and warranty instructions. Mattress warranty claims may require photographs of the mattress, product labels, foundation or bed base.

Manufacturer warranties are provided in addition to, and do not replace, rights available under the Australian Consumer Law. Please contact Sleep House if you require assistance with a warranty or consumer guarantee claim.

Documentation

Proof of purchase

Sleep House may request reasonable proof that the product was purchased from us. Acceptable proof may include:

  • A Sleep House receipt or tax invoice
  • An online order confirmation
  • A payment record showing the Sleep House transaction
  • Other reasonable evidence of purchase

Original packaging is not required when a customer is exercising rights in relation to a faulty product, although keeping packaging may help protect the product during transport.

Transport

Return, inspection and collection costs

Customers are generally responsible for returning products that can be posted or easily returned.

If a product is large, heavy or difficult to return and is confirmed or reasonably believed to have a qualifying problem, Sleep House will arrange collection or cover reasonable return costs where required by the Australian Consumer Law.

If an assessment determines that the product does not have a qualifying problem, the customer may be responsible for reasonable collection, transport or inspection costs. Where applicable, we will provide a reasonable estimate before arranging collection.

Delivery fees and other costs associated solely with an approved change-of-mind request or voluntary cancellation are generally non-refundable. This does not limit any entitlement to recover reasonable costs under the Australian Consumer Law.

Sleep House Delivery

Mattress & Furniture Delivery Information

Sleep House delivers mattresses, bedroom furniture and selected products throughout Melbourne and to eligible metropolitan and regional locations across Australia.

Melbourne Delivery

Delivery is available across Melbourne, subject to the product, destination postcode and property access.

Selected Interstate Areas

Mattress and bed-base delivery is available to selected locations in Victoria, NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Regional, interstate and special-access deliveries may require an individual quotation before an order is confirmed.

Where we deliver

Delivery availability depends on the type and size of the product, your postcode and the delivery access at your property.

Smaller products can generally be delivered to more Australian locations. Mattresses, bed bases and larger furniture require specialist freight and have more limited delivery coverage.

Local mattress and furniture delivery

Delivery is available to most Melbourne metropolitan suburbs. Charges vary according to the product, postcode, order size and access conditions.

Regional Victoria

Selected regional locations

Delivery may be available to selected regional Victorian locations. Please contact us with your postcode and product details so we can confirm availability and provide a quote.

Interstate Delivery

Selected Australian metropolitan and regional areas

Selected mattresses and bed bases can be delivered to eligible locations in NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. Some products or locations may not be serviceable.

Small Products

Pillows and selected accessories

Smaller products may be available for delivery to a wider range of Australian addresses. Available options and charges will normally be displayed during checkout.

Delivery charges depend on the product type, product dimensions, order quantity, destination postcode and property access.

Where an automatic rate is available, it may be displayed at checkout. Regional, interstate, oversized or special-access deliveries may require a separate quotation.

Order Preparation

Delivery timeframes

Delivery times vary according to product availability, manufacturing lead times, destination and carrier schedules.

Products marked as made to order will require additional production time. Estimated timeframes are guides only and do not represent a guaranteed delivery date unless Sleep House has confirmed otherwise in writing.

If several products are included in one order, delivery may be arranged when all items are ready or may be completed separately, depending on product availability and the agreed delivery method.

Customer Details

Check your delivery address carefully

Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, postcode, telephone number and any relevant access instructions when placing an order.

Please notify Sleep House as soon as possible if any delivery information changes. Address changes may affect delivery availability, charges and timing.

Address changes

Changes should be provided at least one business day before the scheduled delivery. Late changes may not be possible and could result in additional charges.

Safe Access

Preparing your property

Customers are responsible for confirming that products will fit safely through all entrances, hallways, stairways, lifts and doorways leading to the intended delivery location.

Please tell us in advance about:

Stairs or narrow access
Apartments and lift bookings
Parking or loading restrictions
Gates, security or reception access
Long carrying distances
Construction or site hazards

The delivery team may decline to complete a delivery where access is unsafe, unsuitable or could reasonably cause injury or property damage. Additional delivery or redelivery charges may apply.

Receiving Your Order

On the scheduled delivery day

An adult must be available at the delivery address to accept and, where required, sign for the goods.

Delivery time windows are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, earlier deliveries, carrier schedules or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Please keep your telephone available and ensure that the delivery path is clear before the delivery team arrives.

Missed Delivery

Redelivery charges

A redelivery fee may apply if nobody is available to receive the order at the arranged time, access has not been provided, the delivery information is incorrect, or the goods cannot be safely delivered because access details were not disclosed.

If you need to change an arranged delivery, contact us as early as possible and preferably at least one business day before the scheduled date.

Service Scope

Unpacking, assembly and old-product removal

Delivery does not automatically include assembly, installation, packaging removal, moving existing furniture or disposal of an old mattress.

If you require an additional service, contact us before placing your order. Availability and additional charges depend on the product, location and delivery provider.

Order Inspection

Check your products after delivery

Please check the number of items delivered and inspect the packaging and visible condition of the products as soon as reasonably possible.

If an item appears damaged, incorrect or incomplete, take clear photographs of the product, packaging and labels and contact Sleep House promptly with your order number.

Your rights in relation to faulty or damaged goods are not affected by this request. Please refer to our Returns & Exchanges page for further information.

Medium vs Firm

The Copper Vital Medium provides more surface cushioning and gradual contouring than the Firm version.

Firm may suit customers prioritising reduced sink and stronger surface stability. Medium offers a more adaptable balance of comfort and support.

Medium vs Plush

The Medium version provides less compression and a more controlled response than the Copper Vital Plush.

Plush focuses on deeper cushioning and closer contouring, while Medium provides broader everyday versatility.

All-Foam vs Hybrid

The Copper Vital relies entirely on foam layers for cushioning and support. It does not contain pocket springs or another metal spring system.

Compared with a hybrid mattress, it generally feels quieter, less bouncy and more uniformly cushioned.

Movement Across the Bed

Complete motion isolation cannot be guaranteed. Results depend on mattress size, body weight, movement and the supporting bed base.

Using an Adjustable Bed Base

Confirm that the selected adjustable base is compatible with the mattress size and all-foam construction before use.

Ensure that the mattress, removable cover and bedding cannot become trapped in the base mechanism during adjustment.

Cover Care

Remove the cover only in accordance with MLILY’s instructions. Follow the attached care label before machine washing or drying.

The internal foam layers must not be machine washed, immersed in water or exposed to excessive moisture.

Bed Base Requirements

Place the mattress on a flat, stable, ventilated and suitably supportive foundation. Slats should be secure and appropriately spaced.

An unsuitable, uneven or sagging base may affect comfort, support and warranty eligibility.

Unpacking and Expansion

Carefully remove the packaging without using sharp tools close to the mattress fabric. Position it on the bed base before opening the final compressed wrapping.

Allow approximately 24 hours for expansion and ventilation. The final shape and comfort response may continue to develop after this period.

Before You Order

Medium is a general comfort description rather than a standardised firmness measurement. Feel will vary according to body weight, sleeping position, room temperature and previous mattress experience.

Confirm the required mattress size and adjustable-base compatibility before placing the order.

Delivery and Mattress Care

Delivery availability and charges depend on the selected mattress size, stock availability and destination postcode.

Use a breathable mattress protector, rotate the mattress according to MLILY’s care guidance and do not flip it unless specifically instructed.
